Unnati is a Partner with CMS INDUSLAW’s Antitrust & Competition Law practice group and is based out of Delhi & NCR office.
Unnati has over 13 years of experience in advising major corporates, banks and financial institutions in relation to abroad range of competition law matters.
Unnati has been consistently recognised as a ‘Next Generation Partner’ and ‘Recommended Lawyer’ by the Legal500 Asia-Pacific rankings for the years 2024, 2023 and 2022. Previously, she was recognised as a ‘Rising Star’ by the Legal500 Asia-Pacific rankings for the year 2021. Further, she was also commended in asiaLaw for the years 2023 and 2022. Additionally, Women in Business Law Awards APAC 2023, shortlisted Unnati for ‘Antitrust & Competition Lawyer of the Year’. She was also recognized as ‘Thought Leader’ at Autumn 2023 Mondaq Thought Leadership Awards.
She has represented clients in complex and high-profile antitrust litigations before the Competition Commission of India (CCI) (including Director General (Investigation)), appellate tribunal (NCLAT), High Courts and Supreme Court of India (SC) relating to prosecuting and defending against allegations of cartelization, abuse of dominance and imposition of vertical restraints. She has also advised companies in relation to cartel leniency cases, abuse of dominance investigations, and competition law concerns in relation to various types of commercial agreements.
She routinely advises on M&A transactions from competition law perspective, by devising company’s merger control strategy for obtaining approval from the CCI.
Further, she has advised multinational corporations in relation to formulation of their competition law compliance policies and conducted compliance audits. She also regularly analyses and advises various multinational corporations on a whole range of competition issues (contentious as well as advisory) in a variety of sectors.
Prior to joining CMS INDUSLAW, she has worked with J. Sagar Associates and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (erst while Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co.).
