Surya is a Partner in the Mumbai office of CMS INDUSLAW into International Arbitration and White-Collar Crime practice.
Surya has over 8 years of experience specializing in international arbitration and cross border disputes. Surya has represented multinational corporations in high-stakes and complex arbitrations across sectors such as FMCG, energy, infrastructure, shipping, pharmaceuticals, and technology. He has acted in arbitrations seated in Zurich, Geneva, Singapore, London and New York.
He has advised and represented marquee clients in multi-jurisdictional proceedings. His experience includes handling high-value commercial disputes, negotiating multi-million-dollar settlements, and securing critical rulings before the Supreme Court and High Courts of India — including a landmark decision upholding the right of two Indian parties to choose a foreign seat of arbitration.
Surya graduated from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, in 2017.
Prior to joining CMS INDUSLAW, he was associated with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.
