Shreya is a Partner with the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT)  practice of CMS INDUSLAW. She specialises in legal and regulatory issues relating to Payment sand Financial technology, Digital Intermediaries, Data Protection, Information Technology, Gaming and Telecommunications.​

Shreya brings extensive experience in advising both domestic and international clients across a broad range of sectors including e-commerce, technology, fintech, OTT platforms, e-sports and gaming, hospitality, healthcare and financial services. Her expertise spans market entry strategies, business and product structuring, data privacy and cybersecurity frameworks, platform terms and policies, strategic and non-strategic commercial agreements, consumer protection and soft IP matters. ​

She has been advising on Indian data privacy for several years has advised on some of the most significant mandates under India’s new Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023. In this space, Shreya is recognised for her ability to navigate its complex interplay with sectoral regulations, global privacy frameworks like the GDPR, and fast-evolving enforcement trends. Her work spans advisory, policy advocacy, breach response strategy, and end-to-end implementation—including readiness assessments, data governance strategies, consent and notice architecture, data principal rights fulfilment, contractual structuring, and regulator interface.​

In the Payments and Financial Technology space, she provide send-to-end legal support for navigating complex regulatory environments relating to payments, digital lending, embedded finance, wealth and trading, virtual assets and insurance, among others. She regularly advises on RBI Master Directions, SEBI and​ IRDAI regulations, and the legal architecture surrounding KYC, market conduct policies, data flows, risk management frameworks, escrow structuring, merchant onboarding, outsourcing, and grievance redressal protocols. She has also advised on regulatory classification and licensing triggers in the context of innovative fintech products. In addition to regulatory strategy and licensing support, Shreya works closely with clients on enforcement risk assessments, RBI inspections and audits, and remediation planning. ​

Shreya’s telecom practice includes regulatory advice on licensing and compliance for communication services, IoT deployments, SMS/voice services, and cloud-based infrastructure. She also has a well-recognised practice in online gaming, advising platforms on monetisation models, user engagement, skill-based gaming laws, and central and state-level compliance strategy.​

Her earlier roles include working with litigators before the High Courts and Supreme Court of India, as well as an associateship with Clifford Chance, where she worked with clients and law firms across Singapore, the UK, and the UAE.​

Shreya’s work has received consistent industry recognition. She has been named an ‘Up and Coming’ Partner by Chambers & Partners Asia-Pacific 2025, a ‘Rising Star’ by asialaw Rankings 2024-25 in Regulatory, Technology, and Telecommunications, and has been consistently recognised as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ by The Legal 500 in TMT, Financial Services Regulatory, and Data Protection. She was also shortlisted for ‘Rising Star of the Year’ (India and Middle East) at the ALB Women in Law Awards 2021.​​
