Shashi is a Partner with CMS INDUSLAW’s Tax practice group and sits out of both the Delhi and Gurugram offices. ​

He has over 15 years of litigation and advisory experience in various tax laws with an emphasis on indirect tax. Shashi is enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi and is a member of the Delhi High Court Bar Association and the Supreme Court Bar Association.​

Shashi has been instrumental in maintaining a litigation and advisory practice focusing on tax and other fiscal legislations like FEMA, Foreign Trade, Debt Recovery etc. Shashi has built a profile of handling litigation across a varied set of forums, including the Supreme Court and the High Courts along side Tribunals such as the CESTAT, NAA, DRT/DRAT, Adjudicating Authorities, ATFE, etc. He has a large number of reported judgments to his credit both as lead counsel and as briefing counsel.​

Apart from litigation, Shashi has also been involved with a variety of advisory assignments including opinions on credit mechanisms, classification, tax structuring exercises as part of building financial bids, realignment of distribution chain, legality of various FTP policies etc.​

Shashi has handled clients across sectors such as telecommunications, information technology companies, mobile phone manufacturers/distributors, construction, FMCG, pharmaceuticals. A wide gamut of services are offered to clients with high levels of efficiency, quality and success. The team has a wide network of counsels across the country which helps to play the role of both an advocate and a solicitor. This sort of reach has also helped Shashi develop a robust litigation management strategy for clients​ and handle litigation and advisory assignments for clients at an industry level. Key examples of these are the battery charger litigation across multiple states, refund related litigation at the Supreme Court and various High Courts, CESTAT and also anti-profiteering challenges in Delhi High Court and Bombay High Court.​

Legal500 Asia Pacific 2025 recognised him as a “Next Generation Partner” and “Recommended Lawyer” for Tax.​

Shashi has previously been associated with Economic Laws Practice, Delhi and thereafter, with PDS Legal. Shashi last was a Director with PDS Legal and headed the IDT Litigation in Delhi and closely worked with Ernst & Young LLP India for more than 8 years before joining CMS INDUSLAW.
