S.M. Algaus is a Partner in CMS INDUSLAW’s Dispute Resolution practice group, based in the firm’s Mumbai office.
He brings over 11 years of experience in dispute resolution, with a strong focus on commercial litigation, arbitration, and advisory work across diverse sectors. Algaus regularly advises and represents clients in civil and commercial disputes, arbitral proceedings, insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings, intellectual property enforcement, and regulatory issues. He has acted for leading corporates, financial institutions, public sector undertakings, and charitable organisations in matters of strategic importance.
He appears before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT), City Civil and Sessions Courts, Small Causes Court, Electricity Regulatory Commissions, and arbitral tribunals.
Algaus has written articles on a variety of subjects, which include those published by Mondaq , FirstPost , The Leaflet , The Law Anthology.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading of history and philosophy. He is also fond of discovering regional cuisines and immersing himself in local cultures - both within and outside India.
