Mathew is a Partner in CMS INDUSLAW’s Mumbai office and is part of the Capital Markets practice group.
Mathew has more than 16 years of experience in equity, debt and hybrid securities offering. He has advised domestic and international clients in capital markets related transactions including initial public offerings, rights offerings, qualified institutions placements, FCCB restructuring etc. He has also worked on public offering and institutional placement of units and debt securities carried out by REITs and InvITs.
Mathew is a regular speaker and panelist at leading industry and academic forums. He has been invited to speak on India’s IPO landscape at the National Investors’ Conference organized by the CII Centre of Excellence for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Startups (CIES), and has served as a panelist at workshops organized by the Climate Bonds Initiative on certification and regulatory aspects of green and municipal bonds. He has also conducted advanced capital markets sessions at academic institutions, including programmes jointly organised by the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS) and King’s College London.
Mathew is regularly quoted by leading business media on SEBI reforms and capital markets regulation.
Prior to joining CMS INDUSLAW, Mathew used to be a Partner with Saraf and Partners. He has also worked in the capital markets teams of other firms such as JSA, Trilegal, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. and Khaitan & Co.
