Akash is a part of Tax team at CMS INDUSLAW.
Prior to joining CMS INDUSLAW, Akash was part of the Regulatory team of Ernst &Young LLP in their Tax practice where he advised on implications of foreign exchange management act (FEMA) for more than eight years, he has a cumulative experience of nearly 15 years.
His routine practice included assignments of regulatory health check where he assisted many companies in resolving their procedural issues with foreign exchange department and trade division of the Reserve Bank of India and advising them on compounding procedures or representation before the Enforcement Directorate. Further, he also advises on NBFC regulations and allied matter to various entities which are in the financial sector or entering the aforesaid sector
Akash has been instrumental in assisting companies in various sectors including pharmaceutical and defence, in getting approvals/clarifications from erstwhile FIPB (presently DPIIT).
Previously he had also developed the practice of assisting client is availing weighted deduction under Section 35 (2AB) of the Income Tax Act. This involved in getting recognitions and approvals for clients conducting in-house R&D from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) under Ministry of Science and Technology.
