Abhishek is a Partner in CMS INDUSLAW’s Tax practice group and is based out of Delhi & NCR office.
Abhishek is enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi and is a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association, the Delhi High Court Bar Association and the All-India Federation of Tax Practitioners.
With over a decade of dedicated experience in tax litigation and advisory, Abhishek combines deep technical expertise with a client - centric approach to deliver effective, strategic solutions. He has successfully represented and advised clients across a diverse range of industries, including automotive and allied sectors, telecommunications, online gaming and gambling, blockchain technologies, information technology, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, insurance, mining, building automation, and infrastructure.
Abhishek’s practice spans all stages of tax controversy and dispute resolution — from investigations and adjudications to appearances before Tribunals, multiple High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India. He has secured numerous reported judgments, reflecting his ability to navigate complex legal challenges and deliver favourable outcomes. Leveraging a robust network of counsel across India, Abhishek and the team leads the design and implementation of comprehensive litigation management strategies for clients with pan-India operations.
His advisory expertise covers a broad spectrum of tax and fiscal matters, including GST and Customs classifications, eligibility of tax credits, tax structuring, supply chain modelling, tax amnesty schemes, incentives and exemptions, tax refunds, free trade agreements, and foreign trade policy. Abhishek’s pragmatic advice helps clients optimize their tax positions while ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory frameworks.
Beyond litigation and advisory, Abhishek actively engages with policy development, representing clients and industry associations before government ministries, the Tax Board, and the GST Council. His insights have contributed to shaping key tax policies, underscoring his commitment to advancing the broader legal and business environment.
